The England manager Expresses Disappointment Over Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Emphatic Wales Victory.

The England head coach voiced his sadness that the England team did not enjoy greater support from the Wembley crowd during their impressive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was happy to see his squad showcase their winning momentum, with strikes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the first 20 minutes effectively ending the game. However, he was unhappy with the mood at the iconic venue.

“With limited sessions to prepare against a well-trained team and we performed excellently,” the coach commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth goals. There was little noise. We didn’t get any energy from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you deliver in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. When you only hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the squad warranted better encouragement today.”

“I stand by my words. There’s nothing more than leading 3-0 in a derby. I hoped for a bit more support in moments where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to support us, there was excessive backing for the opposition. It might have aided us to regain energy, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Vindicated by Display

Away from potentially starting a dispute among supporters, Tuchel also caused a stir by leaving out Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. But the choice was justified by Rogers impressing again in the No 10 position and scoring his first international goal.

“He is what he is,” Tuchel noted. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his place.”

Wales Manager Seeks Lessons from Defeat

The Wales manager hopes that his team, who host a strong Belgian side in a important qualifying match on Monday, improve after their disappointing first-half display.

“That’s the reason I wanted this game,” the manager said. “I need to see our current level. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? Today fills me with motivation.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Watkins was withdrawn at the break after colliding with a post and is a concern when England play their next opponents in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
